I think it would be a wonderful gift to receive a house

When my grandfather died he left a house to each of his three sons. I think it would be a wonderful gift to receive a house. My dad and his brothers knew for years which house they would inherit and so they could plan in their minds what they would do with it. I think if someone were to give me a house I would like a little bit of a choice in what kind it would be.

I actually don’t know anyone who could afford in today’s economy to give me a house but it would be a great dream of mine to own a house outright and not to have a mortgage on it. I think I would like a condominium in a major city.

One that would be near all the shopping and theaters and exciting things that that city would have to offer. It would have a very secure security system and a doorman to collect packages and help with carrying things if I needed any help. I would have an area secluded from the street where the residents could sit under the trees but there would be enough privacy so if you wanted to be by yourself you could be. Read More »

Christmas gift for mom

Posted by christmas - October 24th, 2003

I am 36 years old, mother of three and married to my best friend. He got me an IPOD last year for Christmas and also the Bose iPod dock station which he knows I love Bose!

It has been a wonderful gift! I use it in the kitchen and works great. It doesn’t take up a ton of space which is nice and it sounds like a full size stereo system.

Its been nice owning an iPod as it has given him a reason at every occasion to add the accessories to my collection of iPod gadgets.

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year for decorations

Posted by christmas - October 22nd, 2003

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year for decorations. I have for many years used the giant string of lights and placed them along the top of the trim in my living room. My children love it still and now all 5 grandbabies beg for them at the first site of all the decorations.

I also have a village that is placed upon the bar in the kitchen in which I place cotton balls around for a snow like effect. I have several pieces that go to this collection including a church, a town store and many others.

I then place the small sting of lights around it to light it up. It is so beautiful. I also have a collection of glass snowmen that are placed on top of my entertainment center and I also place the cotton around for snow. Read More »

Christmas in France

The Christmas traditions around the world may vary from region to region within a particular country, making Christmas around the world a truly unique experience to all who celebrate. It is of interest to both children and adults to know how other people spend their Christmas around the world.

A very common source of inspiration for Christmas traditions around the world is the use of the Nativity scene, used in homes at Christmas around the world.

In France the use of the nativity scene or crèche is the focus of the Christmas celebration. The crèche are often made of clay specially designed by craftsmen in the south of France from molds often passed on from generation to generation since the seventeenth century.

Christmas games Musical Presents

Posted by christmas - October 12th, 2003

Musical Presents game is played like hot potato. My parents/family would buy presents, cheap trinkets at the Dollar Store, and wrap them up in several layers of wrapping paper.

There were enough presents to go around so every kid got something. They would wrap each present in several layers, usually around nine or 10 layers.

Christmas song – O Holy Night Lyrics

Posted by christmas - October 7th, 2003

“My favorite Christmas song is “Oh Holy Night” sung by Twila Paris with Aaron Neville coming in a close second. Our church has Worship dancers which my sister was a part of and they put together a dance routine to this song. It was so touching that I cry every time I see them do it or even just hear the song. My favorite part of the dance is when they actually fall on their knees along with the words to the song. Oh Holy Night was written by Placide Clappeau, a French mayor, in 1847. ”

“I first learned this song in elementary school chorus; it gives me Goosebumps every time I hear it. Now this is most favorite Christmas song and we love to sing it all together around the Christmas tree. Read More »
