I make these nuts every year for Christmas, and the fan club grows with each passing year. I include them in little ribbon-tied plastic bags in the tins with other home-made Christmas goodies, but I also have plenty of extras for the table after Christmas dinner.
It’s nice to know that they’re a bit healthier than some of the holiday treats that we splurge on during the holiday season. Best of all, they are very fast and easy to make.
I first learned the recipe one year when a friend gave them to me as a gift.
Ingredients:
1 egg white You can use the equivalent in reconstituted egg white powder.
1/2 pound raw nuts I generally use pecans or walnuts. Almonds or hazelnuts might also be nice. (Don’t use nuts that are already roasted or salted.) Read More »

I am a 21 year old female. This past Christmas, I received the following:
1) A 120 gig iPod Classic from my father. It is silver and thirty times the size of my old iPod. I asked for a new iPod for Christmas because my old one was stolen at a party.
2) A Garmin sports watch to assist me in my training for a half-marathon that I will complete in April. It is GPS-enabled and tracks the number of calories burned, the distance you have run or walked, the amount of time you have been running or walking, the average pace you have maintained throughout your work out, and you can even race an imaginary person.
It has the ability to track your heart rate through an optional attachment. My dad also got this for me because I wanted something to help me keep track of how much walking and running I was doing. I’m really excited to start using this new gadget! Read More »
