Christmas is a joyous time of year full of different Christmas traditions around the world.
There is a good chance that wherever you were to look in on a Christmas around the world that there would be at least one or two familiar Christmas traditions around the world that you would recognize.
Christmas traditions around the world are not the only difference we might experience over the holidays. Christmas in Australia will find warm temperatures and long daylight hours as it is the middle of the summer during Christmas.
Flowers are a popular decoration in Australia, you may find people decorating with ferns, palm leaves and red and green flowering Christmas bushes. Other blooming flowers available are wisteria, nasturtiums and honeysuckle’s.
Christmas dinner will often include salads and cold meats served up on a picnic on the beach, or a more traditional roasted meat, baked vegetable and plum pudding. Dinner can either be served earlier in the afternoon in the hotter part of the day or in the evening when it is cooler.
Popular Christmas traditions include Carols by Candlelight done in parks and gardens of most towns and cities and the sending off of Christmas cards.
No matter where you are spending Christmas in the world you will most likely find people attending church mass on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, this is also true in Australia.
In Australia Father Christmas will sometimes leave gifts in pillowcases, children’s beds or on the breakfast table.
