Fab Christmas gift for a stressed mother of 3 sons

Posted by christmas - August 20th, 2008

Last Christmas was wonderful for me. I had just moved back to California after four years of living out of state, I was living in a new house, and celebrating my son’s first Christmas.

The holidays are always a stressful time for me, doing all the shopping for three young boys is never easy, trying to determine which things they would enjoy getting the most. Then there is the planning and cooking of the meal that I love to do, but my family always comes over to celebrate with us and that can get a bit out of hand, especially as the day wears into evening and the champagne, wine and beer start to flow.

I think in every family there is always a family member who likes to stir things up, and unfortunately, that is about five members of my family. I love them but having them in my house for more than three hours at a time can be exhausting, not to mention having to clean up after everyone.

The calmest time of the day is when I’m having a simple Christmas breakfast with I wasn’t expecting to receive anything, and was enjoying just being with my boys with their gifts opened, and wrapping paper scattered all over the living room showing me their toys and what they do.

I bought my five year old a guitar and he entertained everyone with his “songs”. My father came over later in the day bearing even more gifts for the children, and when he was done playing Santa Clause, he told me Merry Christmas and handed me an envelope with a red ribbon stuck on the front.

I was thinking it could be a check or just a card, but when I opened it, I was speechless. My father had presented me with a weekend at a spa.
