If I were to ever get a house as a gift

Posted by christmas - November 18th, 2008

If I were to ever get a house as a gift, it would probably have to be from some random stranger. No one in my family who has the money to gift a house wants to part with their money.

I’ve never dreamed of getting a house as a present, because I never thought it would ever happen. I have always wanted a very large house, on acreage and in the country (but not too far from civilization).

My dream house is multilevel with plenty of large rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a room made to be a library.

If I were to be gifted a house, any house would be great. Read More »

Little Drummer Boy Carol Lyrics

Posted by christmas - October 28th, 2008

My favorite Christmas song has always been Little Drummer Boy. Our parents always played decorated the house and played Christmas music during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Little Drummer Boy has a tune and that is the kind where you can not get it out of your mind after hearing it. How could anyone not like the lyrics and the story they tell in the song? A poor boy wanting so badly to give a gift when all he had to offer was to play his drum.

Making the journey and admitting that he was poor and had nothing much to give. Asking if he could give the only thing he had, playing his drum, and getting a nod from Mary. And when he played even the animals kept time with him.

He gave the only thing he had to give and he played his best. It ends with the baby smiling at him. Him and his drum. A great song and a great lesson for a child growing up.

Christmas games: Right and Left of Christmas preparation

Posted by christmas - June 10th, 2008

The name of my favorite game to play at Christmas is the Right and Left of Christmas preparation. I don’t even remember where I obtained my copy of the story or where I played the game, but I’ve had it for a long time.

I suppose the story could be written for any occasion, but I’ve only used it for Christmas. There’s no limit on the number of people who can play, but when you get over ten people the game seems almost out of control with confusion which can make the game no fun. Read More »

I think it would be a wonderful gift to receive a house

Posted by christmas - October 31st, 2003

When my grandfather died he left a house to each of his three sons. I think it would be a wonderful gift to receive a house. My dad and his brothers knew for years which house they would inherit and so they could plan in their minds what they would do with it. I think if someone were to give me a house I would like a little bit of a choice in what kind it would be.

I actually don’t know anyone who could afford in today’s economy to give me a house but it would be a great dream of mine to own a house outright and not to have a mortgage on it. I think I would like a condominium in a major city.

One that would be near all the shopping and theaters and exciting things that that city would have to offer. It would have a very secure security system and a doorman to collect packages and help with carrying things if I needed any help. I would have an area secluded from the street where the residents could sit under the trees but there would be enough privacy so if you wanted to be by yourself you could be. Read More »

I would definitely want a house for a Christmas gift

Posted by christmas - June 10th, 2003

I would definitely want a house for a Christmas gift. The first thing I would do after moving in the furniture would be to set up the Christmas tree. After that was done I would get out my holiday tea set and other decorations.

I would have something special for dinner like oyster stew followed by cake. It really wouldn’t matter about gifts, I would have everything I wanted for Christmas. I would say that it really isn’t probable that I would get a house for Christmas, but it isn’t impossible.

I would like to get a house that has a first and second floor with possibly and attic. There should be a laundry room, a good sized kitchen, at least two bedrooms, a dining area and a cozy living room. An office area would be nice too, but wouldn’t be necessary. Read More »
