My favorite Christmas song is Away In a Manger. The version I like the best from the many many remakes of it is John Denver’s version. This song reminds me of my father. Being very into music, and Christmas being his favorite holiday, my father has a large selection of Christmas music.
They are all usually very well known songs but versions from artists that aren’t as main stream. My father played it for me for the first time when I was little; maybe eight or nine. I fell in love with it instantly.
The simplicity of the song impressed me with the fact that there weren’t a lot of sleigh bells and still had such a beautiful melody. The words sounded like something a child would sing before bedtime and although I am no longer a religious person I still find myself humming this song at twenty-three years old. Read More »

I must say first and foremost as a 33 year old woman it becomes more and more difficult for my loved ones to purchase anything for me for Christmas or for any event in my life.
I have my own personal style that I stick too so clothes is definitely a no no when it comes to a gift.
Christmas 2007 my loved ones were very simple when it came to gifts. I am very much into computers and I save a lot of information so my boyfriend was nice enough to get an external hard drive for my computer.
The external hard drive has been a great asset for me. I tend to purchase a lot of music online and instead of storing it on my C drive of my laptop I just simply put it on my external hard drive. Read More »

My favorite Christmas song has always been Little Drummer Boy. Our parents always played decorated the house and played Christmas music during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Little Drummer Boy has a tune and that is the kind where you can not get it out of your mind after hearing it. How could anyone not like the lyrics and the story they tell in the song? A poor boy wanting so badly to give a gift when all he had to offer was to play his drum.
Making the journey and admitting that he was poor and had nothing much to give. Asking if he could give the only thing he had, playing his drum, and getting a nod from Mary. And when he played even the animals kept time with him.
He gave the only thing he had to give and he played his best. It ends with the baby smiling at him. Him and his drum. A great song and a great lesson for a child growing up.

Musical Presents game is played like hot potato. My parents/family would buy presents, cheap trinkets at the Dollar Store, and wrap them up in several layers of wrapping paper.
There were enough presents to go around so every kid got something. They would wrap each present in several layers, usually around nine or 10 layers.

Christmas music encompasses a lot of different genres, but still, my all time favorite Christmas song is The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole. Written in July of 1946 by Bob Wells and Mel Torme in a climate that rarely sees snow let alone cold weather at any time, the song has many simple, yet, enduring themes.
The Christmas Song Lyrics
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping at your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
