On Christmas I like to set up a small tree and decorate it with little tiny ornaments. That way I feel like a giant. The giant feeling then translates an even larger joy and happiness for the holiday season.
As for lighting I personally use rope Christmas lights because they are easier to maintain and also you don’t have to mess with any broken bulbs. Funny Santa decorations are always a must.
For instance I own a Santa that wears sunglasses and plays guitar to Jingle Bell Rock. I scared my dad and his friend one time with it. It was a very funny moment. I suppose the tree will always be my favorite part. Read More »

I love to decorating the house for Christmas. I love the season, and decorating the house really puts me in the holiday spirit. I use a combination of traditional and modern Christmas decorations.
I love to use pretty green pine garlands on the banister. I have several decorations that I take out and put on surfaces all over the house, such as a contemporary metal Santa and tree.
I have sparkly stars that I like to drape around objects on the walls or underneath the mantle – I vary it each year. I bring out a beautiful crystal bowl that I use once a year for just this purpose: I get fancy glass ornaments and put 3-4 in the bowl, which I use it as a centerpiece on our dining room table. It looks very pretty. Read More »

We use many Christmas decorations but I will describe our living room Christmas decorations. Our living room is decorated at all times in a Western Theme. We had to have a Western Tree. When we decided to do the Western Tree it was about 4 years ago when we first married.
Western Decorations were not easy to come by. Now days we see them in every store. So we have a Christmas tree that is a regular pine tree. Due to allergies in our home we must use an artificial tree.
We use burlap as the skirt on the bottom. We have many western decorations that we have picked up over the years. Cowboy Santa and Reindeer, cowboy boots and hats, guns, and all sorts. Read More »

This Christmas I witnessed the blessing of a Christmas Miracle. The mystery around this miracle still remains. It was an answer to a prayer and who knows what guides the power of prayer.
My sister had five small children. Her husband spent his meager earnings at the local pub in a small southern Alberta hamlet where they lived.
My sister scrimped every year come Christmas time often making her children their Christmas present with scrap wood, old paint and whatever else she could put her hands on.
She yearned to be able to buy them nice gifts from the stores in the city but there was never enough money. One Christmas Eve, my sister and her family traveled to the nearest big city, which was over thirty miles away, for Midnight Mass. Read More »

With Christmas being one of my family’s favorite holidays, we decorate a lot. We always start with the outdoor decor. We have an eight foot inflatable snowman and penguin. The penguin has a Merry Christmas green and white striped scarf.
There are lights throughout both blowups so they can been seen as people are driving by the house. We set them up first usually at the upper end of our home. We then hang icicle lights across the front of the house. We have a Santa Stop Here lighted stop sign that sits at the end of our driveway. Read More »

My favorite Christmas song is about Santa being stuck in the chimney. It’s called “There’s Something in the Chimney”. It just seems like that is something that would happen in our family.
My kids came in when they heard this and started laughing saying that’s just something that would happen since I’m a very accident prone person. We first heard it in New Hampshire and now we play it all the time.
The funniest part is they keep saying that the thing in the chimney has been there all week long and no one bothers to check until it starts smelling and Santa doesn’t show up at their house.
I feel sorry that my favorite song isn’t about the joys of the Christ Child being born but most of the songs are about it and I realize what the holiday is all about. We play “Little Drummer Boy” and all the religious songs too but once in a while you have to add a little laughter and happiness throughout the year. Read More »

It’s the night before Christmas and Santa’s got a sackful. He hasn’t come for almost a year and is in rush to drop his load down some dirty pipes.
You’ve got 60 seconds to help Santa empty his sack whilst being pulled by a couple of mooses.

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!
Christmas would not be Christmas without Santa Claus, as it’s this white-bearded man that delivers the gifts on Christmas Eve and brings immense joy to children throughout the world. But have you ever wondered where the jolly fat man came from?
History has it that a long, long time ago there was a bishop named Saint Nicholas who lived in Myra, (now Demre in Turkey). Saint Nicholas had a great love for children, and he would often give needy children gifts in order to brighten up their day. Unfortunately, there is little more information about this kind bishop, as he led a quiet life. Read More »
