Christmas is one of my favorite times of year, I go all out in decorating, in fact I am starting to get the decorations out already for this year.

I have three Christmas trees in my house, one in the dining room, one for the keeping room and one for the family room. Our family room tree is decorated with ornaments that we get for the children and ornaments that they make.

Every year I purchase each of them an ornament from Hallmark and one that relates to a passion of theirs from that year. In addition the in-laws give them each a name ornament for the year.

The family room tree is truly our family tree. Our family room is decorated by the entire family we have child friendly decorations in the room, a train that circles the tree, stockings for each family member; the mantel is decorated with candles and snow men.

Our keeping room tree is a mix of ornaments that my husband and I have collected over the years, some breakable, some from places we have traveled to. Our fireplace is flanked by large green and red handmade trees, not really trees but they look like trees.

I also have large glass containers that I place colorful ball ornaments in. My shelves have lighted snowmen and Santa’s. Our keeping room is also home to our Nativity set. The kitchen is decorated with candles, cookie jars and Christmas bowls.

I bake a lot of cookies so I also have a nice cake plate full of cookies that is decorated for the season. My dining room table is set with Christmas china, candles and Crystal. Our tree in the dining room is made up of lights, and ribbon.

The ornaments on this tree are crystal, very special keep sake ornaments that were passed down to me from my grandmother. Our outside decorations includes a hand painted wooden card that has a spot light on it, the card says He is the reason for the season and Merry Christmas from the “Smiths”.

I have a double porch which is decorated with lighted garland. In addition we place lights on our shrubs. My front door adorns a wreath and is flanked by two lighted topiary. Our bathrooms have Christmas candles and Christmas hand towels, all soaps are changed out to winter scented soaps.

Throughout the house I have candles and Christmas figures placed for everyone’s enjoyment. Yes, as you see Christmas is a very special holiday to us and well we go all out for the holiday. I believe that Christmas is the most magical time of the year.
