I made my mom a little church for Christmas gift
When I got married in 1975 I married in to a family that owns a ceramic shop. I made a lot of things for me and gifts for family members mainly at birthdays or Christmas because starting out and with kids well you know how things can be.
My mom had said that she would like to have a church but she could not make it because of her hands.
So one day about fifteen years ago I made my mom a little church that sat on a base with pine trees and snow around it and it had stain glass windows with lights that change colors red and blue and green and yellow and white it also has a gray roof and a music box in it that you wine it up and it plays silent night it is painted in mother of pearl paint and has real gold trim.
I gave this church to my mom for Christmas and she loved it, every year she got it out at Christmas time and sat it on her TV where she could always see it. Now that my mother is gone I have the church at my home and every Christmas I get it out of storage and put it out.
Now it sets on top my TV where I can always see it and plays my silent night and I think of her a lot, she is there listening to her church playing her song with me. And I am wishing that she was there with me too.
