I never really dreamed that I could get a house as a present
I never really dreamed that I could get a house as a present, as my friends barely have the means to take care of their own home. I have entered many contests over the years where the first price was a nice new home and cash to help pay for the taxes on the prize. But that never came to be.
The house I would like would be a large ranch style home about 5000 square feet or so. It would have a large yard, about an acre or so. Beautifully landscaped, but not too gaudy.
Maybe a couple of fruit trees and a small fountain and gazebo in the back yard. Inside would be a grand entrance opening up into the living room which would have a double recessed cathedral ceiling, with hidden lighting along the edges.
To the right of the entrance would be 3 bedrooms, all sized well with beautiful walk in closets and bathrooms for each of the bedrooms. Beyond the master bedroom would be an observatory, a circular room where I could place a telescope.
Next to it would be a cozy office. On the other side of the house would be a separate dining room, large enough for a grand table and cabinets. The kitchen would be well sized, with a center island and modern appliances and a dinette area over looking a huge enclosed patio/exercise room.
The garage would be attached outside of the kitchen, it would be a 3 car garage with laundry room attached. So a total of 10 rooms. I would like to like in the southwest, preferably Phoenix Arizona, in an adult community.
That’s pretty much my dream house, and pretty much just a dream. Dreams never really seem to come true for me, but I guess I can’t complain. Living in a 30 year old, old home isn’t bad if you have no home, so I am thankful for what I have. But it is nice to dream.
