I received many gift cards last Christmas
I am a 31 year old female and this is about gifts I received last Christmas. First and foremost I got to bring my boy/girl twins home before Christmas after over a month in the hospital. That was wonderful.
My favorite gift last year was my new digital camera which I needed desperately to keep up with all the changes in my children. They changed so much between the day they were born till the day they came home that they were almost unrecognizable.
I received many gift cards last year. I love getting gift cards because it allows me to purchase things I will truly use instead of junk that will accumulate in the corners of my small house. I think my gift card to Lane Bryant was my favorite.
I was able to purchase jeans that I love that otherwise I would never have paid forty dollars for. I did receive many gifts that have sat in a box to re-gift or donate. I received a sweater two sizes too small and slippers that supposedly matched.
Neither of which were my taste and I will not wear either one. I received a bunch of candles but I am unable to burn candles due to my husband’s allergies. And I think the worst gift last year had to be a tacky plaque about families.
It is all in the get rid of box. I have to say the thing that bothers me most about receiving these gifts that I will never use is that people in my family spent money on things that will go to waste.
I always feel bad when people waste money on useless gifts. But all in all my material gifts last Christmas are all over shadowed by the fact that I was able to bring home two healthy happy babies.
