The title of my favorite Christmas song is “Christmas in our Hearts” by a local Philippines artist named Jose Mari Chan.

I knew this song since I was just a kid, since me and my friends and cousins used to sing this when we go out caroling every night starting December 16 until Christmas Eve.

I remembered one Christmas Eve clearly, when we sang this song to one of the houses we decided to sing Christmas carols to. A little child came out with her mother and started singing the song with us.

It was my most memorable caroling trip. Having a child sing the lyrics to a heartfelt song just affected me in a way that I never dreamed possible. It’s like an angel singing the song to me. I like this song because it depicts the way Christmas should be, and its simple way, touched my heart and made me realize that Christmas should not only happen once a year but everyday of our lives.
