Lyrics Christmas song Carol of the Bells
My favorite Christmas song is the Carol of the Bells. I love all Christmas songs, but this one has stood out my whole life. It is in movies that celebrate the season and is a tradition of my high school.
When I was a senior I was in an advanced choir. I actually got to start the carol. As it is a round I also got to finish the song. It continues to be my most favorite song of the season.
Lyrics Carol of the Bells
Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells
All seem to say, throw cares away.
Christmas is here, bringing good cheer
To young and old, meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong, that is their song,
With joyful ring, all caroling
One seems to hear words of good cheer
From everywhere, filling the air
O, how they pound, raising the sound
Oer hill and dale, telling their tale
Gaily they ring, while people sing
Songs of good cheer, christmas is here!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
On, on they send, on without end
Their joyful tone to every home
Hark! how the bells, sweet silver bells
All seem to say, throw cares away.
Christmas is here, bringing good cheer
To young and old, meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong, that is their song
With joyful ring, all caroling.
One seems to hear words of good cheer
From everywhere, filling the air
O, how they pound, raising the sound
Oer hill and dale, telling their tale
Gaily they ring, while people sing
Songs of good cheer, christmas is here!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
On, on they send, on without end
Their joyful tone to every home.
Ding dong ding dong
“Carol of the Bells” (also known as the “Ukrainian Bell Carol” or as “Ring Christmas Bells”) is a choral miniature work originally composed by the Ukrainian composer and orthodox priest Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych. The song is based on a traditional folk chant whose language was thought to have magical properties because of the manner in which it manipulated the number 3.
