My favorite Christmas song is Sleigh Ride. That song epitomizes everything Christmas has come to mean to me and has always meant to me from childhood. It is all about having a great time in winters.

I grew up in New England so the lyrics about cheeks being nice and rosy really hit home. It is always cold in the fall and winter months and I am used to a White Christmas. Didn’t really take many sleigh rides as I lived in the city and not the country, but I did a lot of sledding, which is good enough.

I just know the song from my childhood. During Christmas season we always played Christmas songs in my home. We played everything from Burl Ives to the Temptations and Ella Fitzgerald. I don’t have many funny stories regarding the song, but every time I was outside when I was young and it began snowing, I’d start singing this song at the top of my lungs.

I’d also sing Let It Snow. I love pretty much all the Christmas songs from the classics to the more modern songs, so I hate that I had to choose a favorite, but if I did it would have to be Sleigh Ride. That song just makes me happy and feel like winter is in the air and Christmas is upon us as well.
