My most useful Christmas decoration is Christmas lights

My most useful Christmas decoration is Christmas lights. How useful they are. I hang them on my tree and hang them around all the windows of my apartment so people can see the lights outside. I spent about $50 on them at Wall mart one year, and haven’t needed to replace them as of yet.

I also buy a Christmas tree each year. I buy them my tree from the Boy Scouts each year. I don’t have a very big place, so I buy the smallest tree I can. I spend around $20 for the tree each year.

I buy microwave popcorn, constriction paper, thread and a needle threader if I need one, and a bottle of Elmer’s glue. When I get home, I microwave the popcorn and with my family, thread the popcorn into strings with the needle and thread.

Then we hang the popcorn on the tree. I take the colored constriction paper, cut it into strips and make a multi colored chain, using the glue to glue the ends together. When I make a big enough chain, my family and I hang it on the tree as well.

Most of my tree decorations and ornaments have come from the Dollar Tree, a local dollar store. I shop there because of the price and the wide selection. I enjoy shopping for a few new ornaments each year to hang on the tree because for the longest time it looked bare.

I never shop by brand. It’s too expensive. We even buy all our wrapping paper and tape at the dollar tree. For name tags, we just write on the package who it’s too in permanent marker.

For other decorations I can’t find at the dollar tree, I buy at Wal-Mart, such as reindeer antlers for my dog and a fresh pine wreath to hang on my front door. I even have a Christmas themed welcome mat I got there one year for $15.

All total on Christmas decorations each year I spend maybe $40-$50 at best.
