My parents or my husbands parents are the most likely to buy us a house

My parents or my husbands parents are the most likely to buy us a house, unless some lucky family member wins the lottery or wins a Nobel Prize or something like that.

I actually have thought about getting a house as a present.

In my mind, it would be a large blue or white Victorian house with a big wrap-around porch and white shutters and moldings on the outside. I would love a garden out front, with white and yellow tulips.

In the backyard, I would love to have a swimming pool with a small waterfall and a fence on the outside of the property.

The house would be three stories high, and need a large number of rooms; at least four bedrooms (two for the kids, one for my husband and I, and one for guests), a playroom for the children, a large kitchen with an 8 top stove, a dining room with room to fit all of our relatives at Thanksgiving, a large family room with a fireplace, and a living room with high ceilings so for Christmas we could fit in a large tree.

It would obviously need a master bath, separate bathrooms for the two children’s ), a guest bathroom, and arooms (to minimize screaming and fighting couple more bathrooms on the first floor.

The basement would hold an office, possibly another guest room, and a TV room with a home theatre system. I would prefer to live in a neighborhood with that safe, homey suburban feel where everyone knows everyone else, and the kids could walk to school and play with neighborhood kids without causing me to worry.

A school district with a good reputation is a necessity, as well as being in a good area, preferably in walking distance. Being close to a small town area would also be preferable, with shops and some local restaurants.

Share your Christmas experience, we are impatient to read it :-)
