My peanut butter Toll House cookies are the best

My peanut butter Toll House cookies are the best.

What you need is
a double boiler,
peanut butter,
cooking wax,
semi sweet chocolate morsels,
and wax paper.

What you do to begin is make cracker sandwiches out of the crackers and peanut butter. I usually pick up the Toll House Christmas tree crackers for the holidays.

Once you have all your cracker sandwiches made you take your double boiler and add water to the bottom pot. Once you do that add half a block of cooking wax (paraffin I do believe) and some of the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the top pot and sit it into the boiler pot.

You then let the chocolate and wax melt, stirring frequently. While they melt together, tear you a piece of wax paper and spread it out. Once the chocolate/wax mix is melted remove the top pot, get next to your wax paper to avoid mess, then take a pair of tongs and dip the cracker/peanut butter sandwiches into the mixture.

Once the sandwich is good and coated with the mixture lift out with the tongs and let the excess chocolate drain off. Place the cookie onto the wax paper. The paraffin wax in the chocolate mixture allows the chocolate to harden into a shell type surface as in a lot of candies.

Once the sandwich is placed on the paper just let cool and the chocolate will harden up. Continue this process until you’ve made all you want. My mom and I have made these cookies for many years together. It’s somewhat of a tradition and now that I’ve moved out on my own I am going to continue making them. They’re easy to make and always seem to put a smile on the faces of friends, family, and coworkers.

Share your Christmas experience, we are impatient to read it :-)
