Gift for 29 Year Old Woman

Posted by christmas - November 24th, 2010

I am 29 years old and female. Last Christmas I didn’t get too many presents.

My husband was gone to Iraq so we didn’t exchange gifts.

Though when we got income taxes back I ended up buying some stuff so I guess you can say that was my Christmas gift.

From my parents I got scrap booking stuff, a bag, socks, shower stuff. I really like the stuff I got. My mother-in-law gave me some clothes.

I wear them around the house because they were too big. When i got my income taxes I got a treadmill and some clothes. I really didn’t care to celebrate Christmas because my husband was not here cause he had just left for Iraq. Read More »

Dept. 56 Snow Village Pieces as Christmas Gift

Posted by christmas - November 24th, 2010

It all began in 1986. We were a young married couple with no children yet. At a Thanksgiving family get-together, I admired my cousin’s Christmas decoration which was a ceramic church.

I learned it was from a collection of decorations by Dept. 56 called “Snow Village”. I thought the church was very beautiful and classy looking without being overwhelmingly commercial.

It was just a beautiful white church with a simple Christmas wreath on the door. It was probably about 10 – 12 inches high.

The very next Christmas I was over-joyed when I opened several Christmas packages from some family members. I received three Dept. 56 “Snow Village” pieces – a church, a small Nativity scene and 3 carolers. Read More »

Christmas Gift for Girlfriend

Posted by christmas - November 23rd, 2010

Last Christmas I received David Sedaris’ new book titled, “When you are engulfed in flames” from my boyfriend. We’d been together for about seven months at the time and it was such a thoughtful gift because we went to see David Sedaris perform live earlier that year.

He also took me out to a very nice dinner, complete with appetizers from our favorite cafe, venison chops for the entree, and dessert in the tallest building in our city.

Talk about a view! On this occasion we also said “I love you” for the first time. It’s a night I’ll never forget!

He also purchased a set of shot glasses for me – the very nice frosted kind with the Jagermeister logo on them. That’s my favorite winter drink, and to celebrate we mixed Jagermeister with Bailey’s Irish Cream for one of the best drinks of the season! Read More »

The Christmas Tree Was Especially Pretty and Special to Us

Posted by christmas - November 23rd, 2010

During Christmas decorating is one of my favorite things to do.

There aren’t any specific brands that I would prefer, I chose my decorations and ornaments according to my taste, if I find them cute/beautiful or not, and how it would suite my home and the other decorations that I already have.

However, I especially like star shaped or sparkly ornaments, that I can hang around my house or on my tree. First off, I start with Christmas lights.

I would hang them all around the interiors of my house except for the bedrooms and kitchen. I have different lights that I hang in different rooms. Read More »

Christmas Gift for 32 Year Old Woman

Posted by christmas - November 22nd, 2010

I am a 32 year old female and last Christmas from my children I received a couple different pairs of slippers, one purple pair and one pink pair.

I also received a few DVDs from my children as well.

I always enjoy receiving whatever from my kids, they pick it out themselves and that is what means the most to me, not necessarily what I receive.

The Fun This Has Brought Each Year is Priceless

Posted by christmas - November 22nd, 2010

At Christmas when my daughter was in her first year away at college, I thought it would be a good idea to clean her bedroom and pack some of her personal things away.

She had no idea that I was doing this and I wanted it to be a surprise when she came home and have a clean room.

Upon cleaning out her drawers I found a wheel of birth control pills that were half used.

I was worried, so I called her at college to tell her that I didn’t know if there were hers or not but whoever these were they needed to take all the pills to be effective. Read More »

Christmas Present for 22 Year Old Man

Posted by christmas - November 21st, 2010

I am a 22 year old male. From my brother I got the Family Guy Season 6 boxed set. I don’t like it because I don’t like the show, but he wouldn’t have known that.

My girlfriend bought me some polos from Express, which I love! My parents bought me Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Nintendo Wii, which I also enjoy but haven’t had much time to play.

Family Guy Season 6 – decent enough gift for a fan of the show but I don’t like the show. I think it’s mindless humor and incongruous jokes.

Express clothes – always a good choice, classy and mostly affordable, and I can wear them out with friends or at work!

Smash Bros Brawl – a great game but it’s too easy to unlock everything and it’s not as much fun without other players.

Funny story: Last Christmas we were putting up the tree and throughout the day we had to keep our cat away.

The next day we were sitting around and someone asked where the cat was…we looked for almost an hour before we heard the tree meowing. We looked up and our cat was all the way at the top, so my dad had to get a ladder to save him!

Christmas Pine Garland

Posted by christmas - November 21st, 2010

I love to decorate for Christmas. I put up a 5 foot tree in my living room and hand many years of collected misc. ornaments on it.

Above it I hang a pine garland with lights above it across the top of the curtains on my sliding glass door.

I have collectible Hallmark ornaments, each being a different victorian house or store.

I place them оn shelves with lights around them covered with a light layer of white cotton so they just shine through. Very pretty. Read More »

Picking our a Hallmark Christmas Ornament Together Each Year

Posted by christmas - November 20th, 2010

For the last five years, my fiance, Melissa, and I have decorated our home together. She and I met at college, where would each put out a small three foot Christmas tree with very small, glass plastic bulbs and a single strand of tinsel.

Each of us spent maybe fifty dollars total and used the same decorations all three years we knew each other.

Once we graduated college and moved in to an apartment together, however, our decorations became more elaborate as our budget (and space) expanded.

We lived near a Hallmark card store, and we began a tradition of picking our a Hallmark ornament together each year, spending $20 – $30 each year. Read More »
