Last Christmas I went to my sisters house to celebrate Christmas with their family, I gave her a small golden pendent as Christmas gift, she in return gave me a watch which I have been looking to buy for many years from my college days.
I loved the watch very much it was such an amazing gift that too from an amazing person whom I love the most.
I will tie the watch up in my hand wherever I go and will keep it forever. I have shown this watch to many of my friends and most of them like it very much , especially my girl friend likes it very much and she has too even assured to buy me a watch of the same kind.
I’m proud about my Christmas gift and even possesive too. Christmas is such an occasion when we will make others happy by giving them gifts to remember us as a token of love. Read More »

My tree is artificial and is five years old. It is authentic and most people think that it is real.
I always start by putting on the lights. I use a clear bulb set and a long multicolored set which is multi-functional.
This set plays carols and has various flashing modes. I then add lots of tinsel.
I use the same colored tinsel rather than multi colors. I either choose blue, gold and occasionally silver. Read More »

I am an 18 year old female. We hardly ever exchange gifts because we normally take a family vacation trip to Mexico to visit my relatives and so that my siblings and I don’t lose our culture.
But we didn’t go this year, which means we did exchange gifts last Christmas. I usually have a little Christmas party with my best friends in which we do our traditional exchange of presents and have a sleepover.
Last Christmas I received a glittery bucket filled with: a hand decorated candle holder in my favorite color blue with a white scented candle inside, a purple-pink bejeweled jewelry holder, a blue water bottle, candy canes, a blue house robe with clouds, and a purple flower pen with a matching journal.
I received that from my friend Lauren. I received a jewelry set of a snowflake necklace with earrings from my friend Kristin. I could tell that Kristin felt bad because she had only given us one thing each but we assured her that it was alright. Read More »

Christmas decorations were a very special big deal in the house where I grew up, my parents loved to decorate and celebrate and we spent several weeks getting ready and enjoying the season.
My dad invited “the girls” from his office to a tree-trimming party, and each brought an ornament to hang.
This resulted in a larger and larger collection of ornaments, and my mom always bought “a few” new ones so we could join in placing new ones too.
Then after all the new ones were in place we hung all the other older ornaments, with carols and other holiday music squawking out of the lo-fi record player of those days.
And as might be guessed, my mom spent the next days following the party re-hanging and “fixing” the position of all those dozens of ornaments so they each showed up to advantage (and so the ones she liked were prominent, of course). Read More »

Last Christmas we use some decoration made of indigenous materials.
We try to collect some used news paper an covered it with some colorful papers such as foil and silver dust.
From that materials, we made a lantern, while our Christmas tree is also made of indigenous material. We use a hard broom decorated with used Christmas balls. Read More »

A few years ago, in 2005 to be exact. My Fiancé’ at the time was not working. In mid-August he finally found a job which would take him traveling around the world.
I was very happy for him although it was hard to see him go and not know if or when he would be returning. Well, during his time away I began to fall on hard times.
Children started to act up, bills over due, lost my job and my man was gone. Being a recovering addict made these hardships even harder. He kept telling me that he would be home soon.
Every time that the date came near he said that he had to go on to another state. Well, I began to think that he was not going to come back. Read More »

I love decorating for holidays, Christmas being one of the most fun. The first thing that I look for in my Christmas decoration shopping are strings of vibrantly colorful lights.
White can be beautiful, but I prefer more whimsical light displays, utilizing colors one doesn’t see very often when looking at house Christmas lights, such as pink , orange or even these wonderful rainbow ones I found one year- not merely multicolored, they range the full spectrum and have at least 15 shades.
With such bright lights, I prefer to keep other outdoor decorations a bit more understated. I like a big wreath on the door and something in the window like electric candles.
Indoors, I like to keep one big artificial tree. Wound with more of those cute rainbow lights and a string of white ones for extra sparkle, I keep the ornaments to a minimum.
I have a big white star the goes atop my tree. Each point is a different primary color. Combined with the lights it looks very colorful and pretty.
My tablecloth usually reflects the current holiday and around Christmas time I use a lovely plaid cloth- green and red with metallic gold stripes in it. I get lots of compliments on this each year – I actually picked it up at a garage sale!
I prefer store brand lights and trees. My big tree came from Target and has held up very well over the years. I actually purchase Target brand items for most of my Christmas decoration needs.
Their prices and quality are very competitive and I have never once been disappointed by them. The few ornaments I do use are handcrafted- pine cones and glitter, or construction paper figures. I use dollar store craft items to accomplish this.
I don’t have to have big fancy brand items to have a lovely and fun Christmas – thrifty decorating helps me give my friends and family the extravagant gifts that I love to give. The best decoration of all is a big smile on a happy face!

One day my young son asked, “Daddy, What are we doing for Christmas?” I knew that he knew, and he knew I knew, but I answered him anyway. “Well, we could put a wreath on the garage.” He made a face.
“Or we could put two wreaths up.” Another face. “Or we could put up some, lights, signs, Inflatables, snowmen, snow globes, penguins, a Santa or two and a wreath.” “Yeah!” he cheered.
I told him to dress warmly and he ran off to his room. Meanwhile, I went to get out the lights. We started on the inside and put up special candles in the windows and on the mantle. Then we put up Dominick’s brand variegated tinsel. Next, we put up the talking Santa from FIM (Fun In Motion). Read More »

Christmas around the world is a wonderful time for celebration and a sharing of Christmas traditions around the world. No matter where you and your family spend their Christmas around the world it is sure to be a time for laughter and cheer.
It is both interesting and intriguing to learn about other Christmas traditions around the world. Christmas around the world for many is a time full of stories, traditions and beliefs, no where is this more true than in the country of Poland where superstition and legend takes precedence.
Christmas Eve in Poland is a time for family gathering and reconciliation, it is also considered to be a night of magic. It was believed long ago that animals talked and had the power to tell the future. The traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner is a grand feast including twelve different dishes representing the twelve months of the year.
