Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Lyrics
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love the decorations and how pretty everything looks on the houses and the malls. The season also has this feeling to it of joy and happiness. It’s something that I can not explain but its definitely there.
I am twenty now and no longer believe in Santa Claus but I still get that old childhood feeling when I was younger on Christmas Eve and morning. My favorite Christmas song of old time is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sung by Burl Ives.
Lyrics:
Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
“Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”
Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you’ll go down in history!
It is the movie version of the song. I have found memories of when I was a child, sitting in my front room with the Christmas tree lit and my mom’s record player sitting out. The house was always so beautifully decorated and warm to cover the coldness outside.
Only after Thanksgiving would the Rudolph record come out. My mom would play it for hours on end. I remember sitting in my front room on Christmas Eve while my mom baked cookies for Santa singing the song with my mom in the other room.
It is something that I will never forget and go on to tell my children about some day. Its memories like that you never forget and hold dear to your heart. The lyrics are the movie version where Burl Ives (snowman) says “and as for the rest of the story, he’ll go down in history.
