Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Lyrics

Posted by christmas - October 28th, 2008

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love the decorations and how pretty everything looks on the houses and the malls. The season also has this feeling to it of joy and happiness. It’s something that I can not explain but its definitely there.

I am twenty now and no longer believe in Santa Claus but I still get that old childhood feeling when I was younger on Christmas Eve and morning. My favorite Christmas song of old time is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sung by Burl Ives.

Lyrics We Three Kings of Orient Are

Posted by christmas - October 28th, 2008

We Three Kings (of Orient Are) – this song is an American traditional song, though I can’t remember where or when I first heard it. The song was written in 1857 by Rev. John Henry Hopkins.

I recorded my own instrumental adaptation of We Three Kings for a Christmas music CD called North Coast Noel. The song and CD was recorded to help the Salvation Army in relief efforts right after the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

Lyrics Silent Night carol

Posted by christmas - October 28th, 2008

My favorite Christmas song is Silent Night. I learned this song when I attended church as a small child. It was the first Christmas carol that I learned to play on the piano as a young girl. We also sang it at the holiday concert at school when I was in the first grade.

I can remember sitting by our Christmas tree when I was a small child. My parents had a church which sat under the tree, and you could wind it up and it would play this song. I would wind it up and lay on the couch looking at the lights on the tree while listening to the song.

Many times my parents, brother and I would sit in the living room wrapping gifts while it played. As an adult, I have danced to this song at church during the holiday season for the offertory.

It always brings a smile to my face when I hear it and gives me a sense of peace. This song has a special place in my heart. This is a song which is always played around the holidays and most people know it, but I am including the words just in case you have not heard it. Many people know the first verse but not the others.

My favorite Christmas song is Silent Night. I know this song from going to church every year around Christmas time or hearing it play at my parent’s home. Just being around my family and hearing it play while we put up the Christmas tree.

Just trying to get into the spirit of Christmas. I just really like the song and it puts me into the Christmas spirit. Here are the lyrics to Silent Night: Read More »

Lyrics of Old Fashioned Tree carol

Posted by christmas - October 27th, 2008

I have 2 favorite Christmas songs. One is ‘I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day’ which a lot of people know but my other favorite is ‘Old Fashioned Tree’. This one seems to stump everyone.

I always thought that it was the flip side of Gene Autry’s ‘Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer’ record done way back, I guess, in the early 1940s. Whenever it was made, it was always the one that I wanted played as a little girl and to this day I still know all the words. Read More »

Lyrics Christmas song Carol of the Bells

Posted by christmas - October 6th, 2008

“Carol of the Bells. I love this song because it is not too cheesy cheery like other Christmas songs, but it still really captures the spirit of Christmas in both its music and lyrics. I sang this song for my high schools choir for their Christmas concert.

It is a very lovely song and for the last three years I’ve put multiple versions of the song on my annual Christmas CD I made for my friends.”

“My favorite Christmas song is the Carol of the Bells. I love all Christmas songs, but this one has stood out my whole life. It is in movies that celebrate the season and is a tradition of my high school.

When I was a senior I was in an advanced choir. I actually got to start the carol. As it is a round I also got to finish the song. It continues to be my most favorite song of the season.”

Lyrics Alvin and the Chipmunk Christmas song

Posted by christmas - October 5th, 2008

Alvin and the Chipmunk Christmas song has to be my all time favorite song. I remember the song from when I was a child. Every Christmas my mom would put in the CD and we would listen to it while decorating the house and the tree.

When this song comes on we would all sing it together. The CD would be played all throughout the Christmas season.

Lyrics Christmas song Baby its Cold Outside

Posted by christmas - October 4th, 2008

My favorite Christmas song is “Baby its Cold Outside”. I love it because its always cold at Christmas time and it just makes you want to go inside next to the fire or sip hot chocolate.

This song has a special memory to me of the night my girlfriends and I jogged 3 miles and then stopped in at our favorite Cafe. We sat outside and had our scarves around our faces and snapped a picture of us three. That picture is in my Christmas frame titled “Baby its Cold Outside”.

Lyrics I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Posted by christmas - July 7th, 2004

My favorite Christmas song would be “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, by T. Conner. The full lyrics to this Christmas tune are:

Lyrics I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn’t see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep. Read More »

The Chimney Song Lyrics

Posted by christmas - June 14th, 2004

My favorite Christmas song is about Santa being stuck in the chimney. It’s called “There’s Something in the Chimney”. It just seems like that is something that would happen in our family.

My kids came in when they heard this and started laughing saying that’s just something that would happen since I’m a very accident prone person. We first heard it in New Hampshire and now we play it all the time.

The funniest part is they keep saying that the thing in the chimney has been there all week long and no one bothers to check until it starts smelling and Santa doesn’t show up at their house.

I feel sorry that my favorite song isn’t about the joys of the Christ Child being born but most of the songs are about it and I realize what the holiday is all about. We play “Little Drummer Boy” and all the religious songs too but once in a while you have to add a little laughter and happiness throughout the year. Read More »
