We have a collection or outhouse Christmas ornaments

Posted by christmas - December 3rd, 2008

In my house, we always have two Christmas trees. The larger of the two trees is set up upstairs, in the living room, and we put lights on it as well as decorations such as balls and ornaments.

Downstairs, we put a plastic tree that is not as attractive. Usually, we will have either a bow or a wreath placed on the front door. Also, we have some angels and Santa Clause stockings that we hang from our kitchen bar.

Outside, we usually do a poor job of hanging colored lights around the house and fence. That way, when it is dark and cold outside, we have something jolly to gawk at.

Also, our neighbors enjoy looking at our lighted yard. My wife makes popcorn stringers, and these go on the tree.

Under the tree we put a nice tree skirt that the cat loves to sleep on. I always enjoy putting our wooden Reindeer and Santa sleigh on the roof. It is a tricky operation, but the smiles of passers-by warms our hearts and makes the risk worth it.

I would say that we spend at least $100 every Christmas updating our decorations as well as replacing defective lighting. On the tree, we put things that we have bought as Christmas ornaments on our many travels so that they have more meaning for us.

We have a collection or outhouse Christmas ornaments. I’m not sure how that happened, but they add a country feel to our tree like no other decoration could.

We also usually buy the White House ornaments, which celebrate various U.S. presidents. On the very top our tree, we place some kind of star or angel.

I forget why, but it seems to anchor the tree quite well. We also enjoy putting the sparkling garland on our tree in order to reflect more of the lights. Also, the lights with the microchip that displays patterns of light is what we use on our nicer tree.

Share your Christmas experience, we are impatient to read it :-)
